BathTime

Today Bella had her first bath, with the help of her big sis. Bella barely even cried. Tristen was so sweet, she washed her hair and put her lotion on. Tristen seems to be adjusting very well. She will hold her for about 2 seconds, then she's had her fix. As soon as Tristen wakes up she comes in my room asking where Bella is. If she's sleeping, she wants to get her up or go see her.
It's been nice having grandma here, she's been a big help. Tristen and grandma got up and ate breakfast this morning while mommy got a few more minutes of sleep, that was very nice :) We will really miss grandma when she leaves, Tristen has already been asking where grandpa went. John had to leave on Sunday so he could get back to work, and Vickie will be flying out tomorrow morning. Tristen has had a really great time with them during their visit.

Mommy's Big Helper

Yesterday we took Bella to her first Dr. appointment. Tristen was going to stay home with grandma, but she was extremely upset to find out that she wasn't going with her little sister. Poor thing had alligator tears in her eyes. Ofcourse it broke my heart, so we all went together. Tristen was really cute and the Dr. was great with her. She helped the Dr. hold the flashlights to look in Bella's eyes and ears; it was really cute. Bella's check-up went well, they say she's very healthy.

The Wait is over

Bella is finally here!! Thursday night (thanks Jeremy) I started having regular contractions at 8:00 pm and called the Dr. @ 10:00. We made it to the hospital about 11 and boy did I want my epidural. I was 5 cm when we got to the hospital and 7cm just an hour later. We were afraid that I wasn't going to have enough time for my epidural b/c they had trouble with my IV. I did end up with a good IV and got my epidural around 12:45 (THANK YOU LORD). After that the pain was much better. My midwife checked me again at 2 am and Bella was born at 2:19 am. Thank God I only pushed with 2 contractions. I knew that she would probably be about 8 lbs, but I was shocked when they said she weighed 8 lbs. 9oz., and she's 21 inches long. She did have meconium so I didn't get to hold her right away, but she is very healthy.

It's absolutely amazing how much she looks like her big sister. I feel like I had Tristen all over again, they look like twins. Speaking of big sis, Tristen is doing really well with her. She wasn't to sure if she wanted to touch her at first, but after Grandpa held her she knew it was ok. She loves to hold her, and wants to be by her side at all times. It's so precious. It makes all of the pain and discomforts of pregnancy worth it.

We decided to come home early, instead of staying through Sunday. We were hoping to get some rest. HA, HA :) You know how many interruptions there are at the hopital so we were excited to get away from that. We made it home Saturday and are happy to have our little family all together.

BUMMER

So Yesterday my sister Abbie and I went walking at the mall, had a pedicure, and even bought some raspberry tea. All of the things that "should" speed the labor process along. After we got home I really didn't feel well and I started having contractions. But around 7 they got regular and at 8:30 I was in PAIN. So we called the doc and went into the hospital. I was contracting regularly but Bella's heartrate was a little low, so they decided to give me fluids. Thank God, it helped Bella, but it put a big damper on the contractions. Come to find out I was a little dehydrated, and they sent me home. No thanks to Jeremy :) When I called Lindsay to tell her we were going, Jeremy asked her if I had been drinking lots of water, etc... Lindsay said "she's in pain, that doesn't matter." Well, the turd was right. So next time I'm calling Jeremy before the doctor :)
I am 4 cm now, which is an improvement, and Chris's parents got in town this morning around 5. So atleast they will be here for the birth, which will hopefully be very soon.

The Waiting game

For those of you who don't know, I'm pregnant and due on the 30th (of April). I'm getting rather impatient. Tristen was born 2 weeks early so I'm a little spoiled from the first go-round. I went to the Dr. Friday and was 3cm, and 70% effaced. That's the same thing I was when I went into labor with Tristen, so that makes me even more eager :) My dear sister, Lindsay took me walking Friday afternoon, and we almost died. We ended up walking (with our 3 girls) for a little over 2 hours. Exhausting doesn't even begin to describe how we felt after we were done. Ofcourse we walked up a hill at the very end and it seemed like it was 5 miles long. We were sure that I would go into labor after all of that, but to my dismay I'm still pregnant. I know Bella will come out when she's good and ready. I thought that I was going to the hopsital lastnight, but I wasn't hurting bad enough. I definately had lots of contractions (2 hours worth), just not enough pain. That part I'm not looking forward to. Let's just say "thanks God for epidurals." I'm excited to get this labor under way and I can't wait to see Tristen's first encounter with her new baby sister. Hopefully it will be a safe one :)

"MIMI"

Sunday night I put Tristen to bed and told her that Mimi (her great- grandmother) would be there in the am when she woke up. Tristen loves her Mimi. I got a call that am that they didn't need me to work. I was happy about that, but Tristen wasn't. When she woke up she was yelling for Mimi, and was very upset to see her mommy walk in the room, instead of Mimi. I told her that Mimi wasn't coming b/c I didn't have to work, so she laid in her bed and cried for a whole hour. It did get annoying, but it was kinda cute that she was so upset about not seeing Mimi.
She did get to have lunch with Mimi, Nanny and aunt Lindsay and was very excited about that :) She has to have her weekly fix of all of her favorite people.
After lunch her dear auntie took her to play with Macie. (one of Gracie's friends who has preemie twin sisters) She had a great time playing instead of napping. Lindsay to the rescue!!

Fishing

T-Bird and Daddy
Papaw and T

T-Bird didn't want to take a nap today, so her daddy asked if she wanted to go fishing. That's her favorite thing to do, so she jumped at the chance! Last year she got her very own fishing pole:) Now, T isn't the most patient child so luckily I had snacks and juice to keep her busy between the catches. Everytime Papaw, Daddy, and Dog (Jeff) caught a fish they would call her to reel it in. She loved that but wasn't about to touch the fish:) Sweet memories!

"Mommy I pooped in my floor"

Tristen has been having a few issues with nap time lately. But just the other day the biggest issue yet. It had been about 45 minutes since I had tucked her in, when I hear the door creaking open. I hear "Mommy....Mommy I pooped in my floor." Yes, I said a few words in my head, but in no way was I prepared for what I was walking into the childs room to find. My sweet, dear, loving daughter had not only pooped in her floor, but she had preceded to play in the poop. She had smeared it on the carpet, wiped it on: the wall, a book, her zebra, My Little Pony, and her belt. Yes, I was livid, but eventaully calmed down, and now can laugh about it. It is still beyond me as to why she would delight in playing in her excrement. I guess I'll never understand. Let's just hope that she never again gets this urge. And to think...her new sister isn't even here yet. Somebody help me!!!!
